In accordance with the Terms and Conditions for Sewage in Berlin (ABE), owners of commercial properties on which substances accrue which are lighter than water, such as oil or grease, are obliged to install and operate devices for separating these substances according to the applicable technical standards.
Grease separators, what needs to be observed?
Furthermore, the discharge of commercial waste water into the public sewage system requires a licence. These licences are issued by the Berliner Wasserbetriebe. Here is an initial overview of what needs to be observed when installing and operating a grease separator.
